We have been receiving old school photos the past week for publication on this web site. Old photos appear to be a favorite feature. For the past several years the web page listing old photos was listed in alphabetical order by title. This type of ordering did not facilitate searching for a particular photo or subject matter. Therefore, several web pages have been updated to make it more "searchable".A new Old Photos web page is now available at the following link oldphotomenu.aspx. This new page lists categories of old photos by subject matter and by date. You can click on any combination of categories, including date categories, to zero in on your intended subject. Altogether, there are about 440 old photos to look at and a thumbnail image of each photo will appear as a list based on your selected categories. By clicking on the thumbnail photo, the full size photo image will appear along with the associated text. For those who don't know what a thumbnail is, it is simply a small photo image, which if clicked, will display a larger image. You can also enter a word in the search box at the upper right of the old photos menu. Any photo having this word in its title or associated text will be displayed in the thumbnail list of photos. Only words beginning with a capital letter such as names, towns, events, can be used as a search criterion. As an example, you can enter your family name to see if any photos contain members of your family. One thing to remember, if you enter a search word, the selected photo categories will be ignored. In other words, searching by word overrides a category search.

The Stories and Articles index has also been revised similarly to the Old Photo Menu and is located at this link, storymenu.aspx. The stories and articles can also be selected by subject category or date category in addition to a word search. Also, the stories and articles can be listed by author. If the navigation of these new web pages does not seem clear, click on the Help button at the upper right of the web page. In any event, just experiment with the new web pages. You will eventually get the hang of it and don't worry about breaking anything. The links to Old Photos and Stories & Articles are listed under the History menu item at the top of any web page. There has been a Google Search Box at the upper right of the main MinonkTalk website for several years now. Enter any word or topic you wish to research and click the Google Search button and a Google list of all MinonkTalk web pages containing the word will be displayed. This web site is over 10 years old and is gradually accumulating a wealth of information. By using the above search methods you should be able to find just about anything that has been reported on this website. Have fun searching!
