Residents from Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minonk were treated to a picnic at the rural home of Don and Helen Ludwig. Heritage Manor volunteers Edmona Lohr, Marlene Falk, and Jody Wray drove the residents to the farm and were accompanied by Heritage Manor employees Peggy Ponce and Sheila Bernard.

Helping Helen Ludwig prepare the food were Jean Hock and Marge Kettwich. The menu consisted of chicken salad and ham salad sandwiches, deviled eggs, past salad, angel food cake and Texas sheet cake. Door prizes were drawn and gifts were passed out by Leslie Ludwig. Also assisting at the picnic were Jill Ludwig and Eva Ludwig.
