4-H is the largest out-of-school organization for young people ages 8-18.  Members may choose from over 200 different projects such as aerospace, animal science, interior design, foods, pets, electricity, clothing, photography and more!  The major way that 4-Hers learn by “doing" is through their 4-H projects.  A 4-H project is a series of experiential learning activities planned by the member and a helper. The projects involve setting goals, learning new skills (subject matter skills and life skills), and evaluating progress, all in a challenging and fun format.  4-H members may select projects that reflect their areas of interest. Projects and 4-H Club experiences help youth to learn life skills such as decision-making, time management, leadership and self-confidence. Youth will also develop communication skills, learn how to work with others, run meetings, and develop an understanding of self.  Besides being involved in 4-H at the club level, members can take advantage of other opportunities, such as: 4-H camp, project clinics, demonstration contests, county awards, as well as state, national and international trips and activities.  Most of all, 4-H members have fun, make new friends and help others.  There is a 4-H Club in almost every community in the county.

4-H Pledge

"I Pledge My Head to clearer thinking, My Heart to greater loyalty, Hands to larger service, My Health to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world.”
