Minonk Troop 878 has camping trip

On May 30-June 1, the Minonk Scout Troop 878 went camping for the weekend at Koos timber. The Scouts involved in the activities were Scott Krug, Denis Rutledge, Patrick Howell, Broc Hovey, and Patrick Tarmann. Activities that were done for the weekend was cooking, working on advancement, and canoeing down Panther Creek. They held troop elections. The following scouts were elected to these positions: Broc Hovey - Patrol Leader Patrick Tarmann - Assistant Patrol Leader Quartermaster - Denis Rutledge.

Other activities that the troop is planning this summer is more canoeing, going to Rock Cut State Park and the water park at Rockford Il, and attending the Illini Jamboree which will be held at the former Chanute Air Force Base at Rantoul Il. Two scouts, Scott Krug and Denis Rutledge will be attending Boy Scout camp near London Mills the week of June 15.
