VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AND EARN MONEY FOR FIELDCREST!
BETTER YET….NO BUYING…NO SELLING!
Route 66 Raceway in
What this consists of is an
individual (age 18 or older) donating 4 ½ – 7 ½ hours of their time one day on a race weekend. The race weekend chosen is May 21, 22 and 23,
2004, which is the Spring NHRA Event.
A school the size of Fieldcrest raised approximately
$11,000 for their school in one weekend!
To be as successful, we need at
least 300 people to commit to work one of the three days (we’re responsible for
having approx. 100 people per day). However,
anyone can volunteer to work two or even all three days. The more people that work -- the more money
we earn!! Jobs consist of ushers, ticket
sellers, elevator or tram ambassadors as well as helping at the admission
gates, information tents, and phones.
How many people get to have a
day of fun and see what goes on
behind the scenes of a professional race??
Get a group of friends together – or your family & grandparents –
“girls day out” – “guys day out” -- and spend the day in
All funds raised will go to
the “Citizens for Fieldcrest” committee which is charged with fundraising for
the district’s extra-curricular activities.
If you have questions or are willing to volunteer your
time, call Craig Meyer (309-432-2051), Heidi Cook (815-452-2265) or John Lauf (815-853-4442).

2004 Guest Services Program
Service Group Volunteers: All volunteers must be a least 18 yrs. of age to work an event. If your group has any special needs, please inform us of them so we can be accommodating.
Hourly Rate: A rate of $7.00 per hour per person worked will be paid to your group 3 to 4 weeks after the close of an event. We offer paid training at the same rate with the understanding that training will be paid only after the volunteer trained has worked an event.
Training: All volunteers must sign up to attend one mandatory training session, which is paid. The schedule of training dates will be determined later. After training has been completed, each individual will receive a post card confirming their position, day or days, and hours assigned.
Schedule of Hours: A schedule of hours for all positions is
included for the event weekend. Everyone is scheduled to work the entire shift
they signed up for or when your Supervisor releases you. If you
sign up, show up!
Schedules and Sign up Sheets: The numbers of positions are limited so get your sign up sheet back as quick as possible.
Dress Code: The attire for event day is khaki pants or khaki shorts, plain white polo, and comfortable shoes. These are not provided by the Track. Be prepared for all kinds of weather.
Guest Services Compound: The compound is located just inside Gate 11A, on the south side of the Drag Strip. Everyone is to check in and out at this location.
Equipment: Equipment assigned to anyone will be handed out and returned at the Guest Services Compound. Each person is responsible for his/her own equipment.
Lunch: Food and beverages are the responsibility of each individual. Water is available throughout the day. A ‘lunch box program’ is offered. The cost of the box lunch is $5. If you decide to bring your own lunch, you can keep it in the ‘employee only’ tent. The tent is staffed by a Guest Service Ambassador the entire event day.
