Local men charged with property damage

One of the trees damaged along Minonk's downtown parking lot last summer.
On January 5, 2003 State's Attorney Michael Stroh filed a two count information on James T. Hausler, 411 W 8th Street Minonk, and Kurt E. Persic, 826 N. Walnut Minonk. The two men are charged with Criminal Defacement of Property in that they defaced picnic tables owned by the City of Minonk and Criminal Damage to Property, in that they damaged trees owned by the City of Minonk. Both counts are Class A Misdemeanors punishable by a maximum jail sentence 364 plus a $2,500.00 fine. A first appearance date has been set for February 9, 2004 at 1:30 p.m.
