Fitness center opens in Minonk

Champion Fitness has opened a fitness and rehabilation center in Minonk in the former VFW building at 541 Oak Street. The center opened for business Monday, January 3. The facility has a full line of exercise equipment that includes different types of treadmills and weight machines. In addition, a full line of free weights are available in the weight lifting room. A therapy room is available for physical therapy treatments. The center also plans to add an X-ray room.

The facility is staffed by six personnel and by chiropractor Dr. Mathew Marty who gives chiropractic treatments by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hours for the fitness center are: M-Th, 6 am - 9 pm; Friday, 6 am - 7 pm; Saturday, 8 am - 2pm; Sunday, 8am - 2pm.

Membership fees are very competitive for unlimited use of the facility. Monthly fees are: Individuals - $30, family - $40; Senior individual - $25; Senior family - $35. Annual fees are: Individuals - $200; Family - $275; Senior Individual $175; Senior family - $250.

Family membership includes yourself, your spouse and any children under 18 years or full time college students living at home. The center is offering a January special in which $50 is subtracted from the annual membership if you sign up before January 31.
