Correction to News Article on Charles Lohr
In an article on Wednesday night's school board meeting it was noted that both board members Joe Kirkpatrick and Charles Lohr were absent from the meeting. Mr. Lohr has informed us that his absence was due to the passing of his mother Wednesday morning. We express our sympathy to Mr. Lohr on the passing of his mother.

Update on Back Pack Snack Pack Program
School has been back in session for several months and the Christmas season is already upon us. Since September, the Snack Pack program has been in full swing. The program has been averaging around 150-160 supplemental packages sent home each weekend. Fieldcrest students, in grades pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, who are eligible for free and reduced lunch programs qualify for the Snack Pack. The Snack Packs are designed to be supplemental for students who may not have much to eat outside of school. Each pack generally consists of 2 breakfast items, 2 entree type items (canned soup/Mac and cheese type items), and 4 single serve snack options. We have been ordering the items for the program through the local food banks. The monthly cost of the items purchased is averaging around $400 per month. In order to keep the program running, we are asking for community support. If you would like to donate items, the following is a list of what is needed: Single serve fruit cups and applesauce Granola/protein bars Single serve packs of peanut butter Boxes of macaroni and cheese Condensed soup (that kids would like) Ramen Noodles Donations can be dropped off at the following area locations (during regular business hours): Minonk City Hall Toluca City Hall Wenona City Hall We would also GREATLY appreciate monetary donations. It is generally cheaper for the group to purchase supplies in bulk through the area food banks. Monetary donations can be made to: Back Pack Snack Pack C/O Immanuel Lutheran Church 318 W 4th Street Minonk, IL 61760 If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering your time, please contact any of the following committee members: Pastor Joy Miller, 309-432-2100 or immanuel318@gmail.com Leta Jansen, 309-275-1112 or leta.janssen4@gmail.com Carol Rodseth 309-232-5460 Thank you for your support!

Leaf Pick-Up Follow Up
First, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the results of our Inaugural Community Leaf Pick-Up program this fall. We encountered a number of issues that were out of our control that either hindered the crew's progress, or required them being pulled for other higher priority situations that arose. As was stated when this program was first announced, we will continue to work on this process and use the lessons learned from to be ready for leaf pick-up in the years to come.Thank you and have a safe holiday season!
