Veteran's Bowl to be held at Fieldcrest-Eureka football game Honored Veterans and Military Personnel:Fieldcrest High School would like to cordially invite all veterans and active duty military personnel from the communities of Eureka, Minonk, Dana, Rutland, Toluca, and Wenona to the October 24, 2014 football game between Eureka and Fieldcrest High Schools. This game is being designated as the night our communities will recognize and honor the tremendous sacrifice that our military personnel have, are and will provide our communities and our nation. We would like to have all branches of the military represented at this inaugural Veteran's Bowl being held at Veteran's Park in Minonk. The following is an itinerary for the night's events:
5:30-6:30 p.m. - A pre-game tailgate in the North end zone will be conducted with food and drinks provided by Renaissance Program. 6:40 p.m. - Opening ceremony recognizing the military branches and those veterans in attendance. 7:00 p.m. - Kickoff for the inaugural Veteran's Bowl. Please join us for this special community event. If you are planning to attend, please call Mr. Sean Poston at (309) 432-2529 and let him know you will be in attendance so that you can be recognized for your sacrifices for our great nation. State Playoff Signs Available The Fieldcrest HS football team is selling yard signs. The GOLD signs are for Child Cancer Awareness and the proceeds from these sign sales will go to Bryce McKay and his family. Cub Scouts looking for committee members. My name is Eric Clevenger and I am the Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 3878 in Minonk. I am writing to you today to ask for the communities assistance. For that past few years we have not had a Pack Committee, which is the group responsible for the over all health of the Pack. I would like to invite you to become a registered member of the Pack Committee. The only requirements are to attend a monthly leaders/committee meeting and a willingness to put the best interests of the boys in our community to the forefront. New book published by father of local resident Dave, My father(Stephen Stillwell) has just published another book - "A Fine and Private Grave" it should be available as an eBook on Amazon by tomorrow. He has a third book - "The Necessary Cat" that will be on Amazon as an eBook late next week (He did not want to have two books released at the same time). The paperback versions are still in process but we are making progress. His first book "Mad Molly and the Tunnels Under the Tower" is still Available in paperback form on Amazon (we are working on getting it released as an eBook) He realized a life long dream when he published his first book "Mad Molly and the Tunnels Under the Tower" in December 2012. To have his additional 2 books published are icing on the cake :)
