The funeral for Charlotte A. Papatyi, 60, of 2274 State Route 117, Minonk, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Chruch, Roanoke. Father Mark Merdian and Father Fredi Gomez will officiate. Burial will be in the Roanoke Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
She died at 8:40 p.m. Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at her residence. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home, Roanoke. She was born on Feb. 18, 1942 in St. Elmo, a daughter to Louis T. and Mabel E. Correll Vogel. She married Frank Papatyi on June 2, 1962 in East Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters; Marlene (Tim) Robertson, Roanoke, Melodie (Kevin) Curran of Broken Arrow, Okla., two sons, Anthony (Ann) Papatyi, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Joshua Papatyi, Bloomington, 10 grandchildren; four brothers; and eight sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. A registered nurse, she worked in the surgical and medical intensive care unit at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Roanoke where she was active in the women's guild and was a former CCD teacher. |
