Obituary

Eileen Moritz, 77, of Rutland, passed away at 12:34 p.m. Sunday (March 18, 2018) at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

She was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Streator, to David and Helen Jackson Fechter. She married Wesley D. Moritz on July 8, 1962, in Rutland. He died Jan. 24, 2015.

Surviving are her son, Brad (Denise) Moritz, Minonk; one sister-in-law, Gloria (Don) Punke, and one brother-in-law, David (Orpha) Moritz, both of Benson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Betty (Gerald) Hodel.

Eileen worked in the office at the Toluca Garment Factory in Toluca for 30 years.

Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family and taking trips to the casino.

She was member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Benson where a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church. Private family burial of her ashes will be at a later date in Minonk Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
