The Minonk City Council approved the tax levy for taxes payable in 2019. The taxable value was estimated to be $27,563,288 which is 8.4% higher than the taxable value for the previous year which was $25,417,159. With an estimated rate of .018905 the levy request is estimated to generate $521,081 as compared to $497,446 for the previous year which had a higher tax rate of .019551.

The council approved a payment application from Mid-Illinois Mechanical for $100,205.90 for work completed on the waste water treatment plant upgrade.

The council agreed to an agreement with engineering firm The Farnsworth Group to prepare bids for a 5 year waste water treatment plant maintenance plan.

The council decided to delay a decision on choosing insurance coverage for the city. Alderman Russell Ruestman suggested a line by line item comparison be made between coverage offered by Meyer-Jochums Agency and Illinois Municipal League. Mayor Koos mentioned that the insurance quotes were not put out for bids.

Administrative Manager Bill Moline said the city has purchased two heart monitors for $49,393 which represents a 15% discount from the original purchase price. Mr. Moline added that the Fire Department contributed $16,000 towards the purchase while the city paid the remaining $33,393.
