Sutton Gardens

This is a view of Sutton Gardens on the north edge of Minonk. In the background is the old coalmine "Jumbo" that was razed in 1991. The sign advertises the Royal Cafe which was directly across the highway to the west where the SMF industrial building is now.

It is not known when this picture was taken and who ran the Royal Cafe. We do know that Oliver Turchi ran the Comet bar and restaurant at that location after World War II and later Art Gangister ran the Sky Room Tap at the same location.
