City Council Meeting Summary
Tuesday, May 03, 2022 Posted by City Admn. Bill Moline
The Minonk City Council approved the 2022-23 Motor Fuel Tax program at their monthly meeting Monday night. The program includes micro surfacing Chestnut St. from O'Brien Steel to Moran St. and is projected to start late Summer.
The council addressed the Ordinance violations. Alderman Russell Ruestman recommended a 5 day notice be given to violators. Once notice is given to correct violation(s), violators will have 5 days to correct or be fined until corrected.
The Council approved Connie Ropp as the newest member of the Filger Library Board. The Council also approved the appointments of Steve O'Riley as Treasurer and Mindy Goodrich as Ambulance Chief.
Repairs to the City storm water drainage system that runs out north of town are almost completed.
The City of Minonk will be providing financial assistance to home owners wanting to plant new trees on their property. Once program rules are finalized, they will be posted on the City Hall web page.
Public Works Department will be replacing three fire hydrants that were found during hydrant flushing.
In public comments Dave Uphoff said the Westside Park Pavilion ceiling needs to be repainted. City Administrator Bill Moline said that project is in the city's budget for this year.
