Below is a letter sent to all Fieldcrest families from Superintendent Dr. Kari Rockwell.

Hello Fieldcrest!

I hope this email finds you well and preparing your child for the start of school. Our staff has been working diligently to prepare a safe and engaging school year for all students. Please know that while our start may be different, the priorities remain the same: health, safety, and education. We look forward to working together as educational partners!

This email contains documents explaining procedures and regulations which will support our priorities. While this is a new and different approach, we believe our plans are appropriate for our community.

Fieldcrest CUSD#6 is required to provide a COVID-19 Daily Heath Screening for all students and employees each day. A separate email will be sent on Tuesday as a reminder, however directions are attached. Student COVID-19 Daily Health Screening.pdf

Due to changes in regulations and protocols, the following procedures will be in place until further notice:

Students cannot ride any other bus other than their assigned bus (Unless part of a custodial parent agreement).

Attached you'll find Nurse Nancy's tips (When Your Child Gets Sick) for addressing sick students in the 20-21 school year.

Since the release of our in-person, Return to Learn Plan the COVID-19 health concern has continued to evolve. The most recent guiding document attached is the IDPH-School-FAQs. This document underscores the mask and social distancing requirements for all. This document also explains the protocols for students/staff who exhibit 1 or more symptoms in the document CDC Symptoms. Fieldcrest will abide by all required protocols listed in the IDPH-School-FAQs document so that in-person learning can take place. If IDPH shares additional or modified requirements, Fieldcrest will follow these changes and share with parents.

Also attached is a document named, IDPH Fall Sport Updates which guides both IHSA and IESA activities. Most importantly, it is necessary for the parent(s) of athletes to read about transportation protocols.

Shuttle bus times are included in the Shuttle Bus Letter August 2020. Please note there are minor time changes. Students must NOT congregate prior to boarding the shuttle bus.

For families interested in Remote Learning, the plan is attached. If a student is registered for in-person learning, however the family would like to move to remote, please contact the school principal.

In closing, district administration along with the Board of Education are grateful for the support of our community and the commitment of all to the social/emotional and academic education of our students.

Thank you,

Kari Rockwell
