Main Street - early 1900's

These two photos were taken from the corner of Sixth and Chestnut Streets looking south on Chestnut. The first picture was taken in 1908 and the second in 1910. Notice the early street light in the middle top. It appears to be nothing more than a light bulb hanging from a wire. Minonk was supposedly one of the first communities in the country to have electric lighted streets.
