Schools bonds

I am confused why they would issue bonds before they get the bids, what if it come in substantially higher or lower, what if interest rates drop again? Why of all of a sudden is tearing this down such a priority what are they trying to hide? They know we are going to need millions in repairs of our schools, they couldn't wait 6 months to a year until we get our total bill for the school repairs. Seems like the new board is playing the same games as the old board. And what up with orange snow fence looks bad.

Jack Allen

Morgan Ruestman-Koehler: I'm not sure the new board is the problem. 2 of the 3 new board members voted NO for both motions.
Joe Limbaugh: Why would the Board pay $300k to demolish a building instead of earning revenue from a sale...especially if they want to relocate the school anyway?
Morgan Ruestman-Koehler: Joe Limbaugh agree Joe. And that was part of the discussion and yet there were still 4 board members who voted for it
Joe Limbaugh: Morgan Ruestman-Koehler I agree. In fact I should have been more artful in my reply. I can state that the facts are not correct, but it was under the previous board.
Morgan Ruestman-Koehler: Yes I wish the previous board would have let you buy it. You would have done great things with it. Very disappointing
Broc Hovey Morgan: Ruestman-Koehler call Rupe he'll do it for half

Detergent bottles are needed at Food Pantry

Detergent bottles are needed! Minonk Food Pantry received the following: Midwest Food Bank will be receiving laundry detergent to hand out to our partnering agencies, but we need your help collecting clean empty bottles with lids.

Please ask your community to donate bottles so that we can refill them and get this product out to clients. We need them as soon as possible. If you can take your clean bottles with lids to City Hall, I will take them to Midwest this Friday, August 23. There are tables set up along the north wall of the council room where you can leave them. Thank you so much!

Tribute to Mark and Jari Lynn

I so enjoyed reading your lovely tribute to Mark and Jari Lyn. Growing up we moved many times. All told, I have lived in eight states and for a time in Germany. Therefore, I have always considered Minonk my home town. This where I spent time every summer til I was twenty years old. Minonk should be proud of these two admired residents.
