Kruse Family Question

Does anyone have information about Kruse family in Minonk? My grandfather was a Kruse and he had an uncle who lived in Minonk in the late 1800s and early 1900s. His uncle's name was Nickolas. I believe Nickolas had children by the name of Herman and Sylva. I believe they passed away in the 1970s or 1980s.

If anyone is familiar with Herman or Sylva or related to them, I would appreciate hearing from you. I am collecting information about the Kruse family and identifying people in old photos. You can email me at ehaefli@yahoo.com. Thank you.

Don't forget to get your 4-7 year olds (age as of 7/4/14) up for the Minonk 4th of July parade Mini King & Mini Queen. Sign up at Pop's Sweet Shop, Filger Library or Minonk Community Bank. Winners will be randomly drawn on Friday June 27th.

Looking for gator or golf cart for float

The Minonk Garden Club is looking for someone to loan their gator, golf cart or 4 wheeler to be used as as float in Minonk's 4th of July parade. Anyone who wants to loan their machine to the Garden Club should contact Jessica Stokowski at 309-275-6371.

Minonk Co Op Preschool Registration

The Minonk Co-Op preschool will be holding their registration for the 2014-2015 school year on June 12th at 6:30 pm at St. Paul's Church. The preschool offers classes for 3/4 year olds two times weekly and 4/5 year olds three times weekly. Please come prepared to learn more about the preschool and fill out some paperwork. A $75 deposit is required at the time of registration. If you have further questions please contact Jodi Timmerman at (309)432-3061. Space is limited so please plan on attending on the 12th. "R Farms" farmers market is open for the season at Cannon Park in downtown MInonk. We are also looking for more vendors to add to our Saturday market.

Lifesaver 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run for St. Jude

The Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Run Team is hosting a 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run on Sat. July 5th. Fun Run begins at 5:30 PM and 5K begins at 6PM
.
All proceeds to benefit St. Jude! Registration is open and forms are available on our website at minonk2peoriastjuderun.com or you can email Tami Tallyn at tallyn1@icloud.com.

Pre-registration is encouraged to guarantee shirt and entry into drawing for prizes. All registered participants will also receive free entry post race to the beer garden downtown for live music with Bubblegum Jack sponsored by the 4th of July Committee.

4th Annual St. Jude Band Bash

The 4th Annual St. Jude Band Bash will be taking play this Saturday June 7th Noon - Midnight

The day will start off at 10:00am with Sidewalk Chalk Art on the downtown sidewalks. Then the Northern Illinois Bocce Association – Bocce Tournament will start with signup at noon and play starting at 1:00 pm. Music will be provided all afternoon by DJ Mara and then at 6:00 pm we have the following lineup for the main stage:

Gas Road Riot 6-7:30 pm
Cougar Bait from 8-9:30 pm
Cadillac Jack 10:00 - Midnight

Food, Beer, Raffles, and MORE... all day!

All Proceeds will go towards the kids and families of St. Jude. Come on out this Saturday it is going to be a great day!
