Joseph H. Wylie - Minonk Pioneer 1860's

This photo of Joseph Wylie was taken in the 1860's. He was a 2nd LT of Co. I of the 47th Illinois which fought at Vicksburgs during the Civil War. Joseph and his brother Sam were said to have broke open the first farm land in Minonk. He was married very late in his life to Prudence Selena Tucker. It was said that at close to 70 years old he was pushing a baby carriage. The picture is sent to us by Minonk native Rick Wylie who is a great grandson of Joseph Wylie.
