Frances V. Kunder, 91 of Peoria, formally of Pekin, passed away at 4:35 pm, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Accolade Healthcare of Peoria.

She was born to Frederick W. and Edna (Batrum) Kunder in Minonk, IL on May 2, 1930.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kaywin "Bud" Kunder; four sisters, Jessie Kunder, Helen Buettemeier, Evelyn Eertmoed, and Lois Kunder; She is survived by one nephew, Donald (Connie) Eertmoed of Las Vegas; two nieces, Frances (David) Crouch of Pekin, and Carol Kral of Lockport; one great niece, Cathy (Steve) Mroz; and one great nephew, Rick (Rachael) Eertmoed.

She graduated Salutatorian from Toluca Community High School in 1948. She earned her Bachelor in Nursing from MaryCrest College in Davenport, IA in 1967. She was a member of the Benedictine Oblates.

She worked as a nurse for many years, including at Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped. She treasured the many children she served. Frances also worked as a nurse at Pekin and Proctor Hospitals over the years. She was a big fan of her beloved Chicago Cubs.

A Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 South 7th St., Pekin, with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant. A visitation will be ½ hour before the Mass, also at the church from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be in Minonk Township Cemetery at 1:30 pm, Thursday.
