Robert G. "Bob" Cufaude, 83, Minonk, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 13, 2008) at Manor Care Health Services, Normal.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, with the Rev. Mel Nielsen officiating. Burial will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the memorial home. Memorials may be made to the Minonk United Methodist Church.

He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Bloomington, the son of George G. and Anna Kurth Cufaude. He married Myra E. Danforth on Aug. 28, 1949, in Minonk. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis (Julie) Cufaude, Wheaton; one daughter, Sandy Villegas, Des Plaines; and one sister, Eleanor Russell, Wheaton. He had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary; and one brother, Ralph.

He was affiliated with the Minonk United Methodist Church. He had worked in the auto industry most of his life as a mechanic, a gas station owner and a body shop owner. He served as general manager for Subaru of Mid-America, and prior to that as a warranty representative for Renault, Fiat and Subaru. His hobbies were woodworking and golf.

He will be greatly missed by his family.
