The Minonk to Peoria St. Jude Runners raised $64,000 for the annual St. Jude Run held Saturday. The amount brings the total the Minonk runners have raised in the last 10 years to $975,000. This means next year's run should bring the total to over $1,000,000.
This is quite a feat for the Minonk runners as they raised more than towns of much bigger size such as LaSalle-Peru and Eureka in this year's run. They are to be commended for their efforts. It also is significant that Minonk is a top money raiser for St. Jude as the area has had several children who received treatment for cancer at St. Jude.
