July 4th parade float 1961
Pictured above is a float in the 1961 Minonk July 4th parade. At the lower left seated are Jeff Meyer and Kim Meyer Sullivan. To the right seated behind the folding chair is their mother, the late Barbara Morrison Meyer. Behind Barbara, the girl with the tennis racket is believed to be Jill Pierce, daughter of Jack Pierce, later Jill Helfrich who died two years ago. In the middle is John R. Meyer with the movie camera, son of W. J. "Bud" Meyer. Behind him is Jim Meyer and to his right is the late Jack Pierce who passed away a week before this photo was published. Between JIm Meyer and Jack Pierce sitting in the background is Susie Morrison. The other people are unidentified. Please contact us if you know the names of the other individuals. The photo was submitted by W. J. "Bud" Meyer of Satellite Beach, FL. who is the brother of Jim Meyer.
