Let’s really "LIGHT UP THE TOWN" and make our town beautiful for the holiday season.  The annual Minonk Luminaria Display is scheduled for Saturday, December 17, 2005 with a rain date of Sunday, December 18, 2005.  It is an opportunity to meet with new neighbors and with those you haven’t seen for awhile, and a time to enjoy the holiday spirit.  

All of the order forms will be distributed in November.  If residents of Minonk cannot find them, order forms are still available at the following:  Cunningham Candies, and www.minonktalk.com.

To order luminaries the deadline is December 3, 2005.  To place an order residents can drop off completed order forms at Cathy McKay’s home, 626 Locust St. or leave a written note or a phone message with the amount of luminaries wanted, their name, address, and phone number.  The cost for a kit with 10 luminaries is $7, for 20 luminaries is $14, or for 30 luminaries is $21.  Make checks payable to:  Minonk Luminaria Display.

The price of the luminaries covers the complete kit, including the candles, paper bags, limestone and instructions.  An average lot will use 10 luminaries; corner lots will use approximately 20 luminaries.  Ideally luminaries should be placed 10 feet apart.  Pick up is December 10th from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon at the corner of 4th & Chestnut (the Old Uftring Automotive Building).  

If you cannot pick up your kit please make arrangements for someone else to do so during the designated time.  We hope the community wishes to continue with this event and that it will grow and welcome anyone wishing to volunteer to please feel free to contact us.
