Christmas is coming to town as the Village-Aires present their winter concert “It’s Christmas” on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 7:00 P. M., and again on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 3:00 P. M. Both concerts will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 236 W. 5th St. in Minonk IL. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any Village-Aires member or by calling 309-432-2249. Tickets are $5.00 for adults ($6.00 at the door), and student tickets are $2.00.
The Village-Aires will usher in the Christmas Spirit as they sing “Can Santa Make It Through Tonight?”, “Christmas in Your Eyes,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “We Need a Little Christmas.” Other featured songs are the “Glory of Christmas,” “The Christmas Star,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and “Great Light.” The concert will end on the joyous note that God’s kingdom on earth reigns as the Village-Aires sing the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
Members of the Village-Aires are Leah Bown, Loretta Hunt, Lynn Manning, Patsy May, Shirley Missey, Rebecca Oltman, Nancy Redenius, Kathy Saad (sopranos); Niki Bohler, Debby Cargill, Diana Craigmile, Michelle Janssen, Joan Jochums, Donna Leonard, Marylu Pille, Janet Redenius (altos); Jack Jochums, Dick Leonard, Russ McCulley (tenors), and Russ McMullen and Don Oesch (bass). The Village-Aires is directed by Elaine Cunningham.
