What is Christmas? How do you know that it is Christmas? The Village-Aires will begin their concert with “It’s Christmas” telling us about twinkling lights, carolers, and shoppers that remind us of Christmas. For some people, Christmas is the hectic things that need to be done to prepare for Christmas dinner as we hear in “The Dinner Bell Carol.” What would Christmas be without “Fruitcake?” Christmas decorations are a big part of Christmas as we discover in “We Need a Little Christmas” and “Mistletoe and Holly.”
What is the main reason for Christmas? It is about the promised Messiah that we sing about in “An Advent Awakening” and “Great Light!” “Love Came Down at Christmas” and “What Can I Do?” tell about God’s love and sharing that love with others. Even though some people lean towards Mr. Grinch in “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” we still hear about the Messiah in “Born, Born in Bethlehem.”
Come to the concert to open the season of Christmas in your heart. We hope to see you there!
