A strong wind storm blew through Minonk Monday night and Tuesday morning bringing down trees and branches throughout the area. Eight trees were felled by the storm in the Minonk Township Cemetery. Seven of the trees were Bradford Pear trees that lined the north edge of the cemetery.
A huge branch fell out of a silver maple tree in the Westside Park. The curbs in Minonk were lined with tree limbs waiting for the City crew to pick them up. Gusts up to 70 mph were recorded in the city.
