Hein Construction has now crossed over to the south side of the 300 block of W. 4th Street with the new storm sewer and has proceeded south across a
private property easement to construct the "cornfield leg" of the storm
sewer project. Two drain inlets have been installed near the cornfield behind the homes on W. 4th street to alleviate the ponding
that threatens the homes in that neighborhood. Storm water may
occasionally pond in that area during significant rainfall events, but
to a much lesser extent and for a much shorter period of time than in
the past.
The week of Sept. 26 will see progress on the west leg of the 4th Street storm sewer. Starting at 4th and Johnson, the new storm sewer will travel west along the north side of 4th Street until it reaches the termination point at Jefferson Street.
Sidewalk
and driveway apron reconstruction along the storm sewer path continues
at a very good pace. Hein Construction will soon start landscaping
efforts to prepare the excavated areas with black dirt and grass seed.
