The 2-hour drive time population (marketing area) is approximately 10 million persons, and runs from South of Springfield, Illinois to the Chicago Gold Coast and areas in Indiana. Plans include an IHRA National Event Dragstrip, a 3/8th mile oval track and a 2.5 mile Road Course. Additionally, Commercial lots will be developed as a part of the project.

Ron Colson, President of Track Planning Associates has consulted with the Project Engineers on various issues regarding facility requirements. Scott and Laura Gardner from Cordova Dragway Park will serve as Operational Consultants. David Shafer of Foth & VanDyke – Daily Division has been chosen as Project Engineer for the first phase of construction design.

The signing of the Development Agreement is a huge step forward for the Development team (consisting of Randy Hellyer, Joe Spence & Christine Spence) and the City. The community residents and City leaders have been very supportive of the proposed racing facility and the Developer looks forward to a long relationship with the City and its residents.

Because of the final approval by the City of Minonk, Illinois the Developer now has investor, investor/sponsor or sponsorship positions available. Also, the Raceway is now accepting reservations for purchase or lease of the Commercial lots which are zoned C-1 by the City of Minonk.
