The MidState Stars Soccer Club, under the assistance with the Fieldcrest High School, has conducted a soccer interest survey. With the MidState Stars Soccer Club starting their 5th year, the MSSC was looking to generate area interest and also to advertise that the students in the El Paso-Gridley and Fieldcrest school districts have the opportunity to play soccer at their age level. The El Paso-Gridley High School declined to conduct the survey “because of the current financial crisis in the state. El Paso Gridley is not considering the addition of any athletic programs. It would be unfair to give the students any kind of impression that EPGHS is considering soccer.” At this time, there is no intent to approach any school board about beginning a soccer program; this was a survey of interest.
There were 258 surveys returned; here are the results:
Male Support: 103.
Male Not Support: 30.
Female Support: 110.
Female Not Support: 14.
Male Would Play: 68.
Male Not Play: 37.
Female Would Play: 75.
Female Not Play: 50.
The MidState Stars Soccer Club wants to thank Mr. Lapp and his staff for allowing this survey for the students of Fieldcrest High School.
