Eight parcels in section 6 on the north side of Minonk that were auctioned yesterday (8/31) were purchased by a single buyer for $4.9 million or $8673 per acre. The total acreage for all 8 parcels is 565 acres. H & H Farms LLC of Plano was was the seller.  H & H Farms bought the 565 acre plot for $2,826,100 or $5002 per acre from the City of Minonk in January, 2010 in a sealed bid process.

The name of the buyer was not released by the selling agent but street rumours are that a person from Roanoke, IL purchased the land. Farm land has increased substantially in the last two years as the price of corn and beans has been steadily increasing due to increased world demand and also due to the increase use of corn in making ethanol.
