Saturday, June 24, 2017 - Posted 9:07:17 PM
The 2nd Annual Taste of Minonk drew another large crowd under ideal weather conditions Saturday night in downtown Minonk.  An estimated 700 tickets were sold. Nine food vendors served their specialty that included pizza, chicken, hot beef sandwiches, turkey wraps, barbecue, popcorn, candy, drinks and snow cones.  Kids were given rides in a barrel train and face-painting was a popular attraction.  Music was provided and a movie was shown at sundown.

The event is proving to be a great social gathering of Minonk people and former residents who come not only for the food but for the social interaction.  The event is destined to be become another Minonk tradition.  Special thanks go to Bob Hakes and Jack Jochums who put in a lot of work to pull the event together.
