Community members from the Fieldcrest School District are working
to make plans to feed qualified Kindergarten through Fifth grade students over
the weekends during the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. We have applied to programs with both the
Midwest Food Bank and the Eastern Illinois Food Bank that if we are accepted
would provide a portion of the food that would be sent home with the young
people each weekend. We would then supplement these foods with other items
purchased. If you are interested and able to help out we will need volunteers
for the following: financial donations
for the supplemental food items, volunteers to do monthly pick up from the food
bank as well as unpacking these items, volunteers to do bi-weekly packing of
food items into bags, and volunteers to deliver the packed bags to both the Primary
and Intermediate schools each Friday during the school year.
