Max Hood entered a Horseradish Stuffed Dill Pickle recipe in the annual Horseradish Festival in Collinsville, IL on Saturday June 4, 2011. Their were 10 entries in the recipe contest. Max finished 3rd and won a medal and a $50.00 savings bond. The festival was a good time and Max made many friends from all over the state. He came home with a lot of new ideas and is looking forward to going back with a "new" recipe again next year.
The biggest difference between Max's recipe and most of the others was that Max uses only his home-grown and ground horseradish and the others entries were made with prepared horseradish. For all the folks around our area that have had the please of tasting and sharing Max's homegrown and ground horseradish you are very aware of that wonderful flavor.
