Rutland youth winner of Loyalty Day Essay Contest

P.J. Kulak of Rutland was the winner of the Loyalty Day Essay Contest sponsored by the Minonk VFW Auxiliary #7185.  The theme of this year's contest was "The Goodness of America".

Fourth through Sixth grades from Fieldcrest East participated in the contest.  Other winners were Kayla Cosby of Minonk with 3rd place and Christal Jenkins of Rutland with 2nd place.

P. J.'s essay will be entered in the state competition where he will compete against 18 other students in the State of Illinois, the winner being announced in June.
