PEORIA – State Sen. Dale Risinger (R-Peoria) explains his opposition to the Governor’s proposed $7.6 billion tax on businesses and consumers during a meeting with central Illinois residents May 11, hosted by the Peoria County Farm Bureau. Other Peoria lawmakers attending the meeting in the Farm Bureau Building were State Sen. Dave Koehler, State Rep. Dave Leitch and State Rep. Aaron Schock. A second meeting, hosted by the Stark County Farm Bureau, was held later in the day at the State Bank in Toulon.
Governor Blagojevich's proposed business tax has been met with widespread opposition by both law makers and citizens.
