Sign
up is now underway for the In-Line Hockey program sponsored by the
Minonk Parks and Rec Committee for area wide kids and adults.
There will be four age groups: Ages 3-5, Ages 6-10, Ages 11-15
and then an adult league Ages 16 + Up.
Pee Wee Hockey (Ages 3-5)-This program is the perfect setting for preschool age children to experience the game of hockey for the first time. Players
will learn and practice basic hockey skills without the use of skates,
ending each session with a mock game. Pee Wee Hockey will teach the
basics of the game in a less structured environment, with the focus on
fun! Required equipment includes a stick, helmet, shin guards,
elbow pads and gloves.
Rink Rats (Ages 6-10) (Ages 11-15)-
In this program, players will commit half of their time to hockey
skills including skating, passing, shooting and stick handling and the
other half to practicing game situations and/or playing games.
All
practices and home games will be at the Millennia Park in
Minonk. (We may schedule some travel games with the
Granville, IL kids league.) The cost is $25.00 for the first child and $20.00 for each additional child.
Adult Hockey (Ages 16 + up)-
This recreational outdoor roller hockey league is a great low cost way
to play the game for beginners and veterans. Our league is a mix of
experienced and new players, with the focus on fun.
Players
are required to have one light colored and one dark colored
jersey. The team roster must have at least eight people and you
must provide your own goalie and goalie equipment. Games will be
played 4 on 4. The adult hockey league is $150.00 per team.
