Our Minonk reunion in Branson is set for four nights beginning Nov. 10. The timing allows us to be present for the big annual Veterans' Day Parade on the 11th AND in time to see all the Christmas decorations and shows.
We will be staying at Comfort Inn West, 3601 Shepard of the Hills Road. The rooms are being held in the name of Jim Ringe . Rooms (2 queen beds per room) ar e $75.99 on Nov. 10, 11, and 12. On Nov. 13 and 14, the rate is $79.99 These are senior rates and do not include tax.
To make a reservation, call Choice Hotels (of which Comfort Inn is a part), at 1-800-424-6423. Tell the operator you want reservation number 84707075 and that you want to transfer a r oom from that reservation (in Jim Ringe's name) into your own name and on your credit card. Make sure you get a separate reservation number for yourself.

All rooms are non-smoking. The hotel has on-site parking and the rate includes breakfast.
If you are driving, Mapquest says it takes seven hours to drive from Minonk. The Springfield/Branson airport code is SGF. American and United both fly in there. Probably some others also. The new airport in Branson is scheduled to open in mid-May and has Air Tran and Sun Country flights with possible others to follow. If you go to the Springfield airport, Jim says it is about a 45 minute drive from there to Branson and that the road is a good four lane road.
I am currently working on shows for us to attend. I am recommending that we see the Dolly Parton Stampede Christmas Show (with dinner) at $54.82, the Andy Williams Christmas Show at $51.48, the Pierce Arrow Show (a country music show) at $39.76 and possibly the Chinese Acrobats at $44.66. All prices quoted include taxes. I am currently researching additional restaurants. All suggestions are welcome.
