Everyone likes to sit around and reminisce. The Village-Aires will reminisce
some TV shows that were on from the 1940’s through the 1970’s as they present
their spring concert “Don’t Touch That Dial.” The concerts will take place on
Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. The concerts
will be at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 236 W. 5th St., in Minonk, IL.
There will be no intermission. Tickets purchased in advance are $5.00 for
adults. At the door they are $6.00. Student tickets are $2.00.
The men
will sing “Splish Splash” and the women will sing “The Rainbow Connection” that
were on “The Muppet Show.” Will you have the opportunity to meet Carol
Burnett? A small mixed group will sing “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” that
was sung on her show. Two ladies groups will sing “Top of the World” and
“Dancing Queen” from “The Donny and Marie Show.” The men will also sing “Go
Away, Little Girl” that Donny Osmond sang. The women will sing “Stop! In the
Name of Love” that The Supremes sang on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”
