Village-Aires Concert this Saturday and Sunday

What is your favorite Broadway Show? The Village-Aires will be presenting some of their favorite Broadway Shows in their spring concert "Echoes of Broadway." They will perform this concert on Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. at the Fieldcrest H. S. gym in Minonk, IL. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.

Julie Andrews in "The Sound of Music" is one that has been a favorite with many people. The Village-Aires will sing portions of "Sound of Music" and "Climb Every Mountain." The women will sing "My Favorite Things." Shelly Butler will lead the group into "Edelweiss."

"Cotton Blossom" sung by Kathy Saad, Leah Bown, Teresa Cirks, Beverly Myer, Kelly Christ, Sue Coons, Pam Flohr, Donna Leonard, Janet Redenius, Jack Jochums, Russ, McCulley, Jim Meyer, and Ron Redenius will lead us into songs from "Show Boat." Jim and Beverly Myer will do a duet on "Why Do I Love You?" The women will sing "Can't Help Lovin" and the group will conclude "Show Boat" with "Ol' Man River" with Ron Redenius singing the solo.

Remember the Broadway Show that featured satire on English society - "My Fair Lady?" The Village-Aires group will sing "I Could Have Danced All Night," and "On the Street Where You Live." "Get Me to the Church" and "With a Little Bit of Luck" will be sung by the men. Pam Gansch-Boythe will sing "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and Jack Jochums will sing "I've Grown Accustomed to her Face."

The evening will conclude with selections from "Les Miserables." The entire group will lead off with "At the End of the Day." Jim Meyer, Russ McCulley, and Jay Hurd will sing "Do You Hear the People Sing." Solos include: Beverly Meyer singing "I Dreamed a Dream," Stefanie Weber singing "On My Own," and Jay Hurd singing "Bring Him Home." "Castle on a Cloud" and the "Finale" will be sung by the Village-Aires group.

Elaine Cunningham is the director and accompanist. Marylu Pille is the choreographer and Jerry Welch is the program director.

Come out and join the Village-Aires for a night of Broadway entertainment as they present "Echoes of Broadway."
