The Salem Childrens Home will hold their 19th Annual and Charity Auction on Saturday, April 12th. The Charity auction starts at 8:30 a.m. and has hundreds of new items, quilts and antiques. It is in the gym at the ranch. The horse auction starts at 1 p.m. and has 30 horses this year...arabians, 1/2 arabian, quarter horses, paints, and even a thoroughbred. Terry Wilke will be the auctioneer for the charity auction and there will be concessions and a bake sale all day.

All proceeds go directly to the ranch in their pursuit to help young boys 12-18 years of age. Salem Home is not state or federally funded and most of the boys do not come from wealthy families. The Home is funded through tuition from the families, the horse program and private donations.

Salem has been helping children and their families since 1896.  The public is encouraged to help continue this tradition by giving an item, time, or attending the auctions.

Those wanting to donate their time or an item can contact Linda Lindley, Auction Coordinater, at 815-796-4561 ext 137.  For more information on the Horse Program, call Jo Simmons or Kevin Lindley at 815-796-4561-ext 121.
