Fieldcrest senior guards Nathan Ropp and Taylor Baxter were both named to the first team all-state for Class 1A/2A by the Illinois Basketball
Coaches Association Class 1A/2. Fieldcrest, Peoria Manual, and Breese Central were the only schools to have 2 players named to the first team.
Ropp averaged 21.6 points per game for Fieldcrest, while
also contributing 3.1 steals and 3.0 assists, shooting 50 percent
from the field and 86 percent from the line.
Baxter averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8
rebounds for the Knights who won the Heart of Illinois Conference
regular-season crown plus 3 tournaments including the repeat of the Mclean County Basketball tournament.
Ropp will participate in the finals of the 3-point shootout this weekend in Peoria. Ropp will be representing the 2A Class and will compete against the winners of the 1A, 3A, and 4A Classes.
