Nathan Ropp
Taylor Baxter
| Fieldcrest guard Nathan Ropp was named to the Associated Press Class 2A first-team all-state while his team mate Taylor Baxter was named to the Class 2A second-team all-state.
Ropp averaged 21.6 points per game and shot 50% from the field and 86% from the free-throw line. Baxter averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 assists and 4.8 rebounds. Both players were instrumental in leading Fieldcrest to a 29-1 record, losing to Peoria Manual in the Sectional Tournament.
This is the first time a player from Fieldcrest, MDR, or Minonk Community High School made a first team all-state and the first time a player was named to a second-team all-state. This combination is an amazing feat which should make Fieldcrest fans extremely proud of their team and its coach Matt WInkler.
