This year's Community Lenten Services have begun.
On February 28, youth from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church presented the
Stations of the Cross in shadow form. Now various Minonk Ministerial Association
Pastors will preach and lead worship focusing on several of the
stations.
Each Service is on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, at St.
Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.
On March 7, Pastor Craig Swenson invites us to walk
with Simon of Cyrene as he carries Jesus' cross. First Baptist Church will
provide music and St. Paul's United Church of Christ will provide
refreshments.
On March 14, Pastor Richard Olson invites us to
listen to Jesus' conversation with the weeping women. St. Paul's will provide
music and the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches will provide
refreshments.
On March 21, Pastor Dan Gansch-Boythe ponders the
meaning of Jesus being stripped of his garments. The Methodist and Presbyterian
Churches will provide music and Immanuel Lutheran Church will provide
refreshments.
On March 28, the concluding service of the series,
Pastor Ivy Silas will choose a scene for us to reflect on. Immanual Lutheran
will provide music and St. Patricks will provide refreshments.
At each service an offering will be received to
benefit the ministries of the Minonk Ministerial Association. The entire
community is invited to participate in these times for Christian worship and
fellowship,
