Fieldcrest Board Meeting Summary

The Fieldcrest CUSD 6 Board of Education held its regular Board meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Members present were Tom Barth, Tammi Coons, Scott Hillenburg, Joe Kirkpatrick, Greg Kroeschen, Tim McNamara, and Danielle Reichman. Also present were Superintendent Dan Oakley, High School Principal Bill Lapp, West Principal Molly Allen, and a number of staff and community members.
In Board action during regular session, the Board: approved the annual Superintendent's evaluation; adopted an amended 2014-2015 Public School Calendar; tabled any plans on the high school annex until May; and denied a request from the city of Wenona to support a 12-year extension to the Wenona TIF I.
In personnel action, the Board: recognized Emily Eckhoff's resignation effective at the end of the 2014-2015 school year; and recognized Howard Harm's retirement effective in August of 2015.
Mrs. Peterson made a presentation on the high school chorus program, and a group of high school students sang a number for those present. Mr. Lapp made a presentation on the informal student growth discussions in the district, as well as other events in the district.
Mr. Oakley presented the tentative 2015-2015 public school calendar. The calendar will be adopted at the March board meeting. Mr. Oakley also went through detailed plans regarding budget alignment for the 2015-2016 school year.
The next regular Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at 7:00 pm at Fieldcrest High School band room, with closed session starting at 6:30 pm. In case of an overflow crowd, the meeting will be moved to the high school gymnasium.
