Rutherford Statement on Postponement of State Budget Address

PONTIAC, IL - "There is a constitutionally-established date for the state budget address to be delivered by the governor of Illinois. Gov. Quinn and his administration are aware of that date. Now the Governor has moved back the date for the delivery of his budget to the people of our state."
"Considering the state’s dire financial situation, the public has a right to know sooner rather than later the governor’s financial plan. This delay does not help the state’s fiscal problems. Kicking the can down the road only delays the tough decisions," said Senator Dan Rutherford.
