PONTIAC, IL – The Illinois ENERGY STAR
appliance rebate program kicked off on January 31, according to State Senator
Dan Rutherford (R-Pontiac).
“Illinoisans must act quickly to take advantage of this
opportunity to upgrade their old appliances to more energy efficient products,”
Rutherford said. “Why not go green and put some
greenbacks back in your pocket at the same time?”
Illinois ENERGY STAR is a collaborative effort between
the Illinois Retail Manufacturers Association (IRMA) and the Department of
Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) to enable consumers to receive rebates
on qualifying water heaters, heating and cooling equipment, washers, dryers,
refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners.
Rutherford noted that
availability for ENERGY STAR rebates on heating and cooling equipment and water
heaters began on January 31. Rebates on ENERGY STAR qualified appliances
including washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners will be
available from April 16 – 25.
