The William Diaz family of Pontiac became the first family to receive a Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award. The award honors the volunteerism and service by individuals in their community.
Pictured at the left is Jane and Bill Diaz with their sons Joe and Ben above. Jane Diaz is the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha Kalkwarf of Minonk and the late Gene Allen "Shorty" Kalkwarf of Minonk.
