Downtown Minonk - 1947

This picture was taken around 1947 of the 500 block of Chestnut Street looking north from the corner of Fifth Street. The first building on the left is Hayes Drug Store followed by Hewitt's Hardware, Poynter's Appliances, the Princess Sweet Shop, the A&P Grocery, Ben Franklin Dime Store, Palmer's Jewelry, Ciccerali Hardware, Hornsby's Dime Store, and Kroger Groceries. Further down was Meierhofer's Clothing, Gambles, Schmitt's Drugs, and Vissering Mercantile.

The photo was provided by Don Harms who obtained them from the archives of the Minonk News-Dispatch.
