Over 500 people from Minonk are listed on the State of Illinois Unclaimed Property List web site. Evidently most of these people must not be aware of this list or else they wouldn't be on it. Some of the people are listed several times,some are deceased and some are former residents. Most of the property is unclaimed dividends, refunds, policy benefits, and wages and salaries. The amount of the unclaimed property is categorized as less than $10, $10 - $100, or greater than $100. Most are in the $10 - $100 category. By far the greatest number of unclaimed property is for refunds and policy benefits from Iowa National Mutual Insurance Liquidation. Another popular unclaimed property is for Health Care Service Corp for unclaimed policy benefits.
